We want to provide an update on an exposure to COVID-19 within our Abbey Delray South community. We learned on Wednesday, December 23^rd, that four of our health center residents tested positive for the virus. By way of recap, we now have 11 total resident active cases of the virus; ten are being cared for in the health center and one is being cared for in the hospital.

We also learned today, Thursday, December 24^th, that one of our team members tested positive for the virus. We now have three total team member active cases of the virus and all are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.

We understand that you have concerns about the current COVID-19 status in our community, and many of you have questions. Please know we continue in our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.

Lifespace and Abbey Delray South continue to follow heightened infection control guidelines. We highly encourage residents to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments. Residents and team members are also encouraged to practice social distancing, and we ask that you wear a mask or face covering when you interact with others in public settings. Continued attention to proper hand hygiene, including handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer, is essential to preventing the spread of the virus. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.
