We want to provide an update on COVID-19 and its impact within our Abbey Delray South community. On Wednesday, May 27, we learned that one additional Health Center resident tested positive for COVID-19 and is being cared for in our Health Center. By way of recap, we have one active case of the virus in our community.

As previously communicated, the Florida Department of Health has asked that all assisted living and skilled nursing communities test their residents and team member for COVID-19. We have initiated resident testing, and additional tests will be conducted today in our health center.

We understand that you have concerns about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community, and many of you have questions. Please know we continue in our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.

As a reminder, Lifespace and Abbey Delray South are continuing to follow heightened infection control guidelines. We encourage everyone to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments, practice social distancing and proper hand hygiene. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.
