We wanted to provide you with an update on our COVID-19 test results. While the majority of our test results continue to be negative, on Wednesday, June 17, we learned that one new team member tested positive for the virus. To summarize, we currently have two active team member cases of COVID-19. Our team members are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.
By way of recap, we have seven Health Center residents receiving treatment for COVID-19. Six are being cared for in our community, and one is being cared for in the hospital.
We understand that you have concerns about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community, and many of you have questions. Please know we continue in our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.
As a reminder, Lifespace and Abbey Delray South are continuing to follow heightened infection control guidelines. We encourage everyone to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments, practice social distancing, and proper hand hygiene. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.
