We want to provide an update on an exposure to COVID-19 within our Abbey Delray South community. We learned today, August 24th, that three individuals who provide care and service to our residents tested positive for the virus during our recent large group testing for COVID-19. By way of recap, we have four total active cases of COVID-19 among individuals who provide care to our residents, and all are self-isolating at home.
We are pleased to report that we have no active resident cases of the virus in our community at this time.
We understand that you have concerns about the current COVID-19 status in our community, and many of you have questions. Please know we continue in our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.
As you may be aware, cases of COVID-19 continue to increase in Florida. In response, Lifespace and Abbey Delray South continue to follow heightened infection control guidelines. We highly encourage residents to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments. Residents and team members are also encouraged to practice social distancing, and we ask that you wear a mask or face covering when you interact with others in public settings. Continued attention to proper hand hygiene, including handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer, is essential to preventing the spread of the virus. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.
We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Abbey Delray South management team.
Thank you for your continued support.
